Start with selected text
Keemate can act on the text you are already working with. For this example, open a text editor and type: This are a sentence that need a little help. Select the whole sentence before opening Keemate.
Run Fix Grammar
With the text selected, press Control + Space.
Type Fix Grammar in the command bar. You can also try its initials, fg.
Select the matching AI command and press Return.
Wait for the result, then review the sentence in the original app.
Keemate captures the selection from the app you were using. Opening another window or changing the selection before the action runs can change what the command can access.
Understand the output
A command’s output setting determines where its result goes. Replace writes over the selection in the source app. New result keeps the response in Keemate’s Tasks area for you to inspect.
Rewrite commands normally replace your selection. Other commands can produce a separate result. Check the command’s output setting when you want a different behavior.
AI output can change meaning as well as wording. Review the result before sending or publishing it. Use your editor’s Undo command if a replacement is not what you wanted.
Try another action
Make Shorter trims selected text.
Translate asks for a target language.
Summarize helps you review a longer passage.
Draft Reply gives you a starting point for a response.
If a command is not in search, check whether it is enabled in your command library or search settings. Different beta builds may organize these controls differently.
Make it a habit
Once a command works the way you want, personalize its prompt or choose a model for it. You can also assign it to a Studio Pad control. Start with a command you genuinely repeat, so its physical location becomes easy to remember.
