Open the lighting controls
Open the full Studio Pad editor in Keemate’s Preferences and find its lighting controls. The options available depend on your app and firmware. Keep the pad connected while making changes.
Lighting can show an idle appearance and respond to events such as an action starting or finishing. It is feedback about activity, not proof that the result of an action is correct.
Set a comfortable brightness
Use the lighting power control to turn the strip on or off. Adjust brightness to suit your workspace. Turning lighting off does not remove the actions assigned to the pad.
Changes to brightness and power are separate from the colors and effects used for individual states.
Customize a state
Choose the state you want to edit, then adjust the available color or effect settings. Check the physical pad as well as the preview in the editor. A screen cannot reproduce LED color exactly.
If several activities happen together, more important feedback may temporarily take precedence over the idle appearance.
Reset thoughtfully
A lighting reset returns appearance settings to their defaults. Read the confirmation in the app so you understand which settings are affected before accepting it.
If the strip stays dark, check lighting power and brightness first. Then check the device connection and that the firmware supports the selected effects.
Use the on-screen feedback
Your build may also show an on-screen pad layout or a short action caption. These help identify the current profile or the action associated with a press.
When checking an assignment, inspect the actual result in the target app. A caption that names an action does not guarantee that the target app accepted it.
